I didn't see your note until today. Yes, I loved your playing on that tune of Carl Kress. My good friend Wayne Wright, who later played for George Barnes, told me that Carl thought the way an arranger would. Guitar was just a vehicle for music, but he thought more along the lines of the whole song. Wayne himself was an enormous fan of Art Tatum and listened to his music for all the great chord work. Thank you for your appreciation and my compliments for your excellent website. I have recently started a little blog where I add now and then some pieces of guitar music (or videos) that I like. My playing of Kress' 'Sutton Mutton' was based on the tune as it was recorded by him, even if I changed here and there some notes of the sheet music version because they were differing from the recording.
